Join us for our inaugural walk on Sunday May 4th, 2025!

KARAWATHA EAST 

 

In 2025, Rotary Club of Sunnybank Hills will host their inaugural LIFT THE LID WALK for Mental Health - a mental health awareness and fundraising event for Australian Rotary Health (ARH).

When: 

Sunday May 4th 2025

Setup from 7am, stall holders arrive 7:30am.

Walk starts 9am with most walkers back by 11:15.

FREE sausage sizzle starts at 10 am, event finished by midday.

The Path

2.5kms Rocks Circuit Karawatha Forest, Acacia Road, Karawatha

It’s a walk not a run, no roads to cross, wheel chair friendly, pets welcome.

Note: Public parking on site ( subject to Council approval)

research here. Please indicate Sunnybank Hills LTL Walk under ‘club name’

$30  Early bird registrations prior receive an event t-shirt

Kids under 15 walk FREE

You can purchase t-shirts for kids via the ticket site, opening Friday Feb 7th.

This is a great project because it:

 

  1. Raises much-needed funds for ARH Mental Health Research. 

Today’s research is tomorrow’s treatment and cures


2.  Offers an opportunity to raise awareness of and support to those in our community

experiencing mental health issues


3.  Helps break down the barriers and stigma associated with mental ill health ​

​“ABOUT THE WALK”

​

The “point of difference” is that the walk is not a race. It is a family occasion offering an

organised “fun” walk 

​

The inaugural Lift the Lid Walk was held in Mooloolaba in October 2016 and has grown to include

hundreds of participants at 30 locations across Australia and raised over $300,000 for

mental health research so far.
