Walk for mental health research
The Rotary Clubs of Macarthur will host their 2nd annual LIFT THE LID WALK in 2026!

These walks are a great way to spread awareness of the
1 in 5 Australians who are suffering from a mental illness.
Help us Lift the Lid on Mental Illness this summer by walking with us!

All proceeds go into mental health research through Australian Rotary Health.

“ABOUT THE WALK”
We are very excited to have hosted our inaugural LIFT THE LID WALK for
Mental Health event in the Macarthur Distcrict.
The “point of difference” is that the walk is not a race. It is a family occasion offering an organised “fun” walk.
The inaugural Walk was held in October 2016 in Mooloolaba and has grown to include hundreds of participants and the introduction of a national series in several states and we are very proud to say we have raised in excess of $500,000 so far but we're not stopping here.
Unfortunately dogs (any animal) are not able to be brought on the walk.
The walk will be 3.5km with a 2.5km option for those that prefer it.

PROUDLY SUPPORTED in 2025 BY the following bisinesses

This is a great project because it:
-
Raises much needed funds for ARH Mental Health Research - 100% of funds raised go directly to research.
-
Offers an opportunity for the community to come together and identify with those suffering from mental health issues and start a conversation. To know they are not alone.
-
It provides an outlet for those suffering from mental health issues. For example, every year there have been families and friends wearing their own special t-shirts honouring a loved one who has been lost as a result of a mental health issue.
-
Will bring visitors to our area which is good for local businesses and tourism.
