Details so far:
What:
A walk (NOT a race) around the beautiful University of Western Australia’s
Crawley Campus — starting (and ending) at Riley Oval.
This is a family, faculty and student friendly occasion, offering an organised fun event.
Enjoy the chance to chat, get some exercise and fresh air!
Talk with others about family and community mental health and wellbeing generally.
Meet likeminded people, local support services and service providers.
Coffee Van on site, free biscuits!
Time to chat with passionate local champions.
Why:
The purpose of the Lift the Lid Walk is to raise awareness about mental health, and to raise funds for much needed mental health research. A major focus of Australian Rotary Health currently is pre-teen mental health. Sadly 1 in 7 children will experience anxiety, depression, or even contemplate suicide, BEFORE they reach the age of 14.
Today’s research is tomorrow’s prevention, early detection and treatments.
We believe it is important to also raise awareness of options to maintain positive
mental health, as well as services and supports that are available to anyone who has mentalhealth challenges, without fear of judgement or stigma.
Who:
Everyone who has been impacted by or cares about Mental Health. Come on your own,
as a family, or get a team together to support world-class Australian Rotary Health research. The circuit should suit people of most abilities. Pet friendly
(on leash) but please pick up after your dog

All proceeds go toward pre-teen mental health research through Australian Rotary Health.
Please note: Refunds cannot be provided and all walkers walk at their own risk.
What to Bring:
On the day, participants are encouraged to wear something purple (or your Australian Rotary Health Lift the Lid t-shirts or cap, or club or team shirts etc). Bring your own reusable water bottle, weather appropriate gear, and (of course) comfortable walking shoes!
Let's walk together to
Lift The Lid on Mental Illness!
2026 will see more than 30 locations across Australia walking for mental health research.

Support your community, break down the barriers and stigma associated with mental illness and help raise funds for mental health research. Today's research is tomorrow's prevention, or early detection and treatments for psycho-social illness, and active promotion of mental wellbeing.
